Rapallo

The Ancient Castle facing the sea
Built in the 16th Century on the seafront to protect the town from the Saracen invasions, the Ancient Castle is a particular location for stamps, coins, art and photograph exhibitions. The Sanctuary of Montallegro
Rapallo offers the unique opportunity of an excursion by cable-car to the hill of Montallegro, home to the sanctuary of the same name, from where one can enjoy a breathtaking sea view often as far as Corsica island.

The Museo del Merletto (Lace Museum)
Situated in the historical Villa Tigullio within Parco Casale, the Museum boasts 1.400 rare and precious hand-made laces created between the 16th and the 20th Century, clothes and fittings. Rapallo Golf & Tennis Club
Created in one of the most beautiful locations in the Portofino Coast, the 18 hole Golf Club, opened in 1933, has became one of the most important Golf Clubs in Italy also for the presence of various ancient trees. Portofino

By boat along Portofino Coast
The ferry leaves from Rapallo to get to Portofino in half an hour. Typical Ligurian fishing village with its colourful houses, is one of the most famous locations in the world . After having visited the famous “Piazzetta”, the trip continues towards S. Fruttuoso, between Camogli and Portofino, in a deep inlet along the coast. There it is possible to visit the famous Abbey dated Xth-XIth Century with the cloister, the Chapter House, the Church, the Doria tombs and the statue of the Christ. At the end of the visit the trip goes on toward Camogli, visible in the high and cloured houses facing the beach and its little old harbour. Trekking
The “Monte di Portofino” represents an ideal place to make trekking excursions, thanks to the variety of vegetation and its paths overhang on the sea. The excursion can be combined with short ferry boat trips or with stops to permit the visit to cultural places, combining the sport activities with tourist and also gastronomic pleasures. Diving in the Portofino world
Diving in the crystalline-clear waters with its rare corals, sea flora and fauna of any species, historical wrecks and sceneries like THE LIGHTHOUSE IN PORTOFINO: a monolithic rock, LO SCOGLIO DELL’ALTARE: a seawall 40 metres deep, PUNTA CARGEA: a wide area, the richest in fishes, ABYSSES CHRIST: the statue of the Christ, set to protect fishermen.

The Cinque Terre

Portovenere and the Cinque Terre
Not to be missed the visit to the Five Little Villages called Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola e Riomaggiore, born along a high coast-line, awarded by Unesco as Mankind’s World Heritage. An excursion there offers the possibility to have pleasant walks such as Via dell’Amore (Love path) that from Riomaggiore gets to Manarola. The itinerary gets to Portovenere, a nice resort with its typical houses built like towers, with the visit to the Isola Palmaria (Palmaria island) with a taxi boat transfert, where you will have a breathtaking view. San Salvatore dei Fieschi and Sestri Levante

Visit to olive-mills and to Sestri Levante
Visit to one of the most famous olive-mills of the area, situated a few kilometres from the centre of Lavagna, near the little village San Salvatore dei Fieschi. At the end of the visit the excursion goes on towards Sestri Levante with its two bays, the “Bay of Fables” and the “Bay of Silence”. In the afternoon visit to the Old Olive-mill, where since 1867 extra-virgin olive oil is produced on the Tigullio hills.

Kart racing in Carasco
Opened in 1999, it is the only kart-racing track in the Genoa area with its 400 metre circuit, open all year around except on Mondays. For further information please visit www.ckc.it

Visit Genoa and the Aquarium
Situated only 25 Km from Rapallo, European Capital of Culture in 2004, Genoa offers a huge artistic and culturale heritage. From the Porto Antico (Ancient Harbour) area, surrounded by the narrow alleys called “Caruggi” of the historical centre, with its historical Churches, palaces and museums, open spaces devoted to shopping and then back to the sea.
